One Of The Boys

Katy Perry’s voice would be great singing in the style of British songstresses like Amy Winehouse and Adele.  Unfortunately, someone made the decision that her music needed to sound like Ashlee Simpson.  Her vocal talent is wasted on lyrics like “You’re so gay and you don’t even like boys” (Ur So Gay) and “I kissed a girl and I liked-d it” (I Kissed a Girl).  Its very possible that her Christian upbringing has caused her to want to rebel, but this album is only a rebellion against good music. The only redeeming songs are those that are slower and a little more heartfelt.  Favorite song: Lost. It was hard to find one I liked, but at least the lyrics aren’t as terrible as most of the songs.  Least favorite song: I Kissed a Girl.  This song just makes me uncomfortable.
